CHURCH IS CHANGING BACK
May/June 2022
Important Update: Changes to Coronavirus arrangements
Our Worship Committee met recently, on behalf of the PCC, to discuss what precautions we should discontinue or keep at St Guthlac’s. We agreed firstly, that when we come to church we should continue to have the highest regard for the safety and wellbeing of other people as well as our own comfort.
The choir will once again be able to process to their places, we will place a collection plate at the back of the church and we encourage people who give a cash donation to leave that in the plate as they enter church; it will then be taken to the altar during the offertory hymn. So many members of our congregation now give by Standing Order or other ways; if you are still donating with cash and would be interested in other ways of donating, just speak to our Treasurer he will find your best way to donate to the church. For the moment we do not feel it is the right time to resume offering the wine to the congregation as part of our Communion services. The priest officiating at Communion will continue to sanitise their hands and wear a mask as now.
Other matters are very much down to each person’s own conscience, but can I please ask you, when you come to church:
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation with these precautions and changes – this way we can remain both safe and welcoming!
Adrian
