Holbrook Memorial Hall was built in 1922 by public subscription to commemorate the fallen of World War I and in 2014 (the centenary of the outbreak of the War) an award for refurbishment was made by Biffa, under its Community Building regeneration programme. The funds were used to refurbish the Hall, including providing new toilets, kitchen facilities and undertaking essential repair work. Apart from work carried out by the Hall owners, the local parochial church council, and voluntary work by the local community, this was the most significant work that has been carried out at the Hall in living memory.

There are many groups that use the Hall, ranging from young people's dance and ballet to botanical illustrators. The Hall is also used for monthly social gatherings.

The Hall consists of a main room with a small stage, a kitchen to prepare drinks and a room behind the stage. There is a separate small meeting room that can be hired, but it can only be accessed by stairs.
